Children's Issues
Children's Rights
Relationship breakdown touches all families. At Wilson Nesbitt solicitors we care as much about the approach taken to sorting out issues as the settlement itself. How residence, custody, protection, contact order, parental responsibility, visitation access, upbringing, education and financial provision of your children issues are resolved will lay the foundations of how your children can interact with & relate to both parents. The more amicable the resolution the better foundation for you to move on and start your new life.
Negotiation or Court
We will try to negotiate a resolution for you with the other party's solicitor. Alternatively we can arrange to set up a collaborative law process where one of our trained collaborative law solicitors will negotiate with a collaborative law solicitor for the other party; you are present for the negotiations which are around a table or by conference call and the courts are not involved. Such negotiations are non-confrontational, civilised and efficient, and are the modern way of resolving differences on the breakdown of a relationship. In the event negotiations fail to reach agreement we will thoroughly prepare and vigorously argue your case in Court. The Court will make its decision on the basis of what it considers are in the best interests of the child.
