Tax Issues after Death
Executors or administrators in estates have obligations and personal liability to complete inheritance tax returns to the Capital Taxes Office, pay inheritance tax when due and make further disclosures if additional assets come to light. In addition the income tax positions of both the deceased and the executors or administrators have to be settled and whatever tax returns are required duly submitted for both the period prior to death and the post death administration period lodged with HMRC.
How we can help
We have an experienced team of in-house specialists who will complete the Inheritance Tax returns documentation for submission to the Capital Taxes Office, will advise on any tax liabilities arising, will complete Income Tax returns for the deceased and during the administration period, apply for any tax repayments that are due and ensure that the tax affairs of both the deceased and the executors or administrators and considered closed by the appropriate authorities.
